My
artwork is generally abstract and is displayed on canvas and paper.
My
present work (2010) has taken a drastic u-turn.
After losing my sister recently, my grief led me to explore the
overwhelming yet futile desire to reanimate a loved one lost to
suicide – not even to have them here with us again, but to
rewind and replay their death giving them an agreeable end –
thus taking away the affliction that led them to choose their final
frame –
but the reality just won’t budge.
My
2008 - 09 work aimed to ‘remystify’
– taking away the sharp edges leaving us with clarity of
emotions – allowing the work to resonate, pulse, ooze and
emote. When an object becomes recognisable, it becomes noisy. The
who, what, when and whys start to appear. I strip the top
layer of questions, judgements, pigeon holes, titles, and assumptions.
The work becomes
what the viewer needs it to be.
2006 - Living in London - speaks for itself.
The
techniques involved include capturing the image photographically
and drawing on
and modifying the image using an image editor.
